Your writing prompt for this week:
…is to write a blackout poem (also known as erasure poetry, redacted poetry, a version of found poetry)
Thank you
for the prompt and for the structured-but-not-pressured encouragement to read and write more poetry. I’ve written this one based on some of our experiences as a family when asking for help from some statutory services….If you fancy joining us for some blackout/erasure poetry experimenting & future poetry play, come and have a look at the gorgeous, encouraging space that
is cultivating over on …….Thanks so much for being here!
Love especially to parents and cheerleaders of children with additional needs who care relentlessly and advocate fiercely (when all available energy should be to care, without having to advocate).
Love and hope for a gentle week,
Ange x
Wow Ange - I’m just trying to catch up on Substack after Easter and found your poem. It is so powerful. So much courage and care right there.
So good. Thank you.
